Несмотря на то, что основные игроки - Citrix и VMware – известны и популярны в сфере виртуализации, никто из них пока не может предложить решение, которое бы полностью соответствовало всем требованиям клиентов, и тем самым перетянуть рынок на себя. Кроме того, активная пропаганда производителями своих VDI-продуктов, несмотря на заявляемые ими преимущества, пока не привела к резкому увеличению количества внедрений.
